On Wednesday, we welcomed a bevy of guests involved with the United States-India Educational Foundation. Richa Bhasin, an EducationUSA Advisor; Paul Swider, Consular Officer at Consular Information Unit, US Embassy; and Paul Loh, from the US Embassy Press Office visited to talk to the students about the process of applying to American institutions of higher education.
The talks were informative and the guests were open to all of our students questions. Students asked about everything from the nitty gritty of the college application process as well as the types of programs that are most popular to study in the US.
Of note were comments from Mr. Loh. His children attend the American Embassy School in New Delhi. MPA often travels to Delhi to play against their sports teams. Mr. Loh took the time to say that he admired our sportsmanship and exemplary behavior when visiting. This got a round of applause from the students and everyone present.
Also of note was that the whole event was broadcast on PTC, a Punjabi television network. It was fun to watch the students try to act natural with a huge lens in their face. They pulled it off with class. Overall the visit was fun and informative and marks a continuing effort by MPA to continually improve our students opportunities for higher education.
