Study Skills

Academic Principal, Kirandeep Kaur, presented a study skills session for interested students on Saturday. In this session she covered a range of skills from learning styles to note-taking techniques to how to read questions correctly and answer those questions on the big day. 

Structured English Immersion

In the Level 1 SEI (Structured English Immersion) class, the students are learning the English language through creative and fun activities. In this activity, they made posters using words, such as cheerful, irresponsible and caring to describe themselves. 

Cross-disciplinary Teaching

History teacher, Dharwinder Kaur, facilitated an interactive session with the Grade 12B English class on the “Roaring Twenties” in America.  As a follow-up activity, the learners created posters indicating the remarkable inventions and cultural changes that occurred in that decade. 

Real Life Heros and an Idiom Alphabet

Grade 7 students recently conducted research on ‘real life heroes,’ people who have acted boldly in some way. The learners  presented their powerpoint presentations to the class. In another interactive group session, the students created an “Idiom Alphabet” poster with sayings such as ‘break a leg’ and ‘X marks the spot!’

Rounding Numbers

Students in the Structured English Immersion learned math vocabulary by studying rounding numbers.
