Rangoli is an ancient cultural tradition and folk art from India. Rangoli is made in Indian homes on the days preceding Diwali, for decoration and bringing in good luck.
The Art and Design students’ grade 11 and 12 worked with Radhika Mitter and her daughters to learn the art of making Rangoli. They taught the students the traditional way of making Rangoli in Western India, as she is a resident of Pune, Maharashtra. The students loved the vibrant colours and enjoyed working with them to create this beautiful design, which adorns the centre section of Miri Piri Academy.
