Miri Piri Academy Introduces the Advanced Placement Program

We are delighted to share that Miri Piri Academy is now a center to administer the Advanced Placement ® examinations. From the second semester of this academic year (2013- 2014), we will also begin teaching the Advanced Placement courses and are confident that these courses will greatly benefit our students.

Advanced Placement ® courses, designed by the College Board (http://www.collegeboard.org/), are college-level classes in a wide variety of subjects that students can take while they are still in high school. These courses offer students with challenging course work and a taste of what college classes are like. Curiosity, creativity and commitment are key ingredients for success in AP courses.

AP International University Recognition

AP is recognized as a highly desirable academic credential around the globe. Universities in over 60 countries outside the United States recognize AP in the admission process. Universities may also recognize AP Exam scores for advanced placement, the opportunity to skip introductory-level courses or award credit or points toward an undergraduate degree.

Advanced Placement Courses at MPA

Miri Piri Academy is going to offer students a combination of both Cambridge courses and Advanced Placement courses. Every student will have the choice select Cambridge and/or AP courses. Our guidance counseling department will assist students to ensure that they select the courses that will best suit their interests and will support in gaining college admissions.

Miri Piri Academy will offer the following courses to its students:

  • Cambridge English Language
  • Cambridge Business Studies
  • Cambridge Art and Design
  • Cambridge Applied Information and Communication Technology
  • AP Calculus
  • AP Chemistry
  • AP Physics
  • AP Biology
  • AP Micro Economics
  • AP Macro Economics

One great benefit of taking AP Exams is the opportunity to earn college credit and placement. Most colleges and universities in the United States grant credit and placement for qualifying AP scores. Students can save money and get a head start on their degree when they enter college with credit they’ve already earned through AP.

We have already begun offering online courses to our students and currently have two students who are taking the AP Psychology course. If your child wishes to take a course that is currently not offered at MPA, he/she can take the course with an AP accredited online course provider . Online courses will also serve as an excellent resource to support your child’s learning in case he/she requires additional support.
