Boxing in the Morning

I just came back from our MPA morning boxing class with our principal Jugat Guru. This week, during normal PT time, students practiced two different martial arts. The first two days we had a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu taught by myself. The second two days of PT Jugat Guru taught a boxing class.

In these classes the students are learning the basics of these two disciplines, getting both a understanding in fighting on your feet and fighting on the ground. These sort of classes give our students confidence and the ability to not freak out in a violent situation.

The first third of the class we do self body weight exercises such as push ups and squat thrusts. The second third is spent practicing technique with partners. The final third we have the students spar each other and test out the techniques we’ve taught in a controlled environment.
