Finally, Delhi!

Finally Delhi… This post is coming really late because I took some personal time directly after this trip and haven’t had a chance to post till now. Enjoy!

We trained so much, played a lot and finally the day to travel came. Everybody was excited, even the long train ride was fun! We arrived late night in Delhi and walked across Delhi train station to our hotel. Everybody was happy to go to their rooms and rest.

The next morning we went to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib which is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwaras in Delhi and known for its association with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, as well as the healing sarovar.  Afterwards we went to Khan market to do some (food) shopping, mostly in one of the approx. 10 import stores.

At 3pm we had our first game, boys basketball vs. American International School Chennai, and many others followed, later the American Embassy School provided us with a very nice dinner in their dining hall.

The next day at 8am our girls had the first game of the day, and the whole day until 5pm was packed with soccer and basketball. The last game, our boys vs. AES, was incredible and we won 4:2. After showering we drove to one of Delhi’s malls to have a delicious dinner at Jamie’s (Oliver) Restaurant and to shop. Next day, Sunday, early morning we took the train back to Amritsar.
