2008-2009 Tuition, Fees and Payment Policies

Security Deposit
Every new student enrolled at Miri Piri Academy must pay INR 83,800 as a Security Deposit. This deposit is non-interest bearing, and is refundable upon the student graduating or withdrawing from the school.  Parents must request reimbursement within one year of student departure.  Any outstanding balance due will be deducted from the Security Deposit at the time of refund.

Payment Options
Students enrolling in 2008 for the first time may choose one of the following payment options:

  • Registration Fee, Security Deposit, and Enrollment Contracts due prior to receipt of Letter of Acceptance.  Full Tuition and all other Additional Fees payable August 20th, 2008.

OR

  • Registration Fee, Security Deposit, and Enrollment Contract due prior to receipt of Letter of Acceptance.  Fifty percent (50%) of Tuition, and 100% of other Additional Fees payable August 20th, 2008.  The remaining 50% of tuition payable via one of the following Tuition Installment plans:
    • One installment payable December 20th, 2008.
    • Four equal installments payable the 20th day of October, December, February and April.
    • Eight equal installments payable the 20th day of each month from September 2008 to April, 2009.

Students re-enrolling may choose one of the following payment options:

  1. Registration Fee and Enrollment Contracts due prior to receipt of Letter of Acceptance.  Full Tuition and all other Additional Fees payable August 20th, 2008.

OR

  1. Registration Fee and Enrollment Contract due prior to receipt of Letter of Acceptance.  Twenty-five percent (25%) of Tuition, and 100% of other Additional Fees payable August 20th, 2008.  The remaining 75% of tuition payable via one of the following Tuition Installment Plans:
    • One installment payable December 20th, 2008.
    • Four equal installments payable the 20th day of October, December, February and April.
    • Eight equal installments payable the 20th day of each month from September 2008 to April, 2009.

Payment Methods
For payment of Tuition in Full, the following payment methods are available:

  • Cash, Visa Card, Mastercard, Check or Wire Transfer.

For payment of Tuition Installments, the following payment methods are available:

  • Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard)
  • FACTS (Automatic debits from US Bank Accounts, Discover Cards or American Express Cards)

Sibling Discounts
The sibling discount is equal to 5% of Tuition, not including fees, and is applied for the youngest sibling attending.  If a third sibling attends, the youngest of the three siblings may receive a 10% discount on Tuition, not including fees.  If additional siblings attend, they may also receive a 10% discount on Tuition.

Exchange Rate
Exchange rates for all financial transactions will be set by the school and is subject to change.  Payments will be accepted based on the exchange rate valid at the time of payment receipt.

Late Payments
A late fee of INR 1950 per month will be assessed upon late or incomplete payments as agreed upon in the Enrollment Contract.  Failure to stay current with tuition payments may result in the withholding of school grades, transcripts, certificates and diplomas, loss of Financial Aid awards and, in extreme circumstances, the withdrawal of the student by the school.

Refunds
Unless specifically noted below, tuition and fees become non-refundable upon admission to Miri Piri Academy.

Explanation of Fees

Tuition:  Includes academic program, room and board, athletic program, spiritual life program, school and sports uniforms, textbooks and supplies, art materials, library services, computer services, health services and local transportation.

Registration Fee:  Covers the administrative costs for each student.

Student Spending Money:  Provides a minimum of INR1404 per month to each student for spending money.  Parents may send supplemental spending money at their discretion.  Upon graduation, withdrawal or expulsion, any remaining portion will be refunded.

Incidental Account:  The incidental account covers supplemental expenses such as medical supplies and expenses, spiritual, academic and sports related field trips, replacement of textbooks, school supplies and uniforms, items specifically requested by parents, and other incidental needs as and when they may arise.  The incidental account must be replenished whenever the balance drops below INR 4000.  Upon graduation, withdrawal or expulsion, any remaining portion will be refunded.

Chaperone Fee:  Cost of providing chaperones during travel to and from India.  If a student does not travel with a chaperone, this fee is refundable at the end of the school year.

Senior Class Trip:  The Senior Class Trip is compulsory.  The fee covers the cost of travel, room and board, as well as fees for special activities and tours during the Senior Class Trip.  Upon expulsion or withdrawal prior to the Senior Class Trip, a portion of the Senior Class Trip Fee will be refunded depending on the amount already expended.

Winter and Spring Break Fees:  Provides for travel, room and board, special activities and tours during the school breaks.  If a student will not be participating, parents must provide at least two months notice to the Director of Student Life.  Parents who provide this notice may request a refund of the fee after the break.

Extra-Curricular Class Fee:  Provides for mandatory extra-curricular fine arts classes in the evenings. 

Spiritual Life Intensive Fee:  The fee covers costs for spiritual life intensives that are offered to intermediate and senior students at various times throughout the year.

Teacher Training Fee:  Includes IKYTA certified Teacher Training courses to the 11th and 12th grade students, as well as all certification fees.
