At Miri Piri Academy, spiritual education and practice are a fundamental
part of the daily life of the students, with a wide range of opportunities for
learning and mastery.
Kundalini Yoga and meditation is an integral part of the
program, and is taught throughout the day, from early morning Sadhana, through
the academic day, to the evening meditation. All students graduate as IKYTA
Certified Kundalini Yoga Teachers, and are educated in the teachings of the
Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan.
The Sikh lifestyle is practiced by all students during their time here. Students wear Bana,
read Bani’s, practice Nam Simran, and participate in Seva.
In addition to these basic practices, students have the opportunity to broaden
their spiritual education through the practice of Gatka, a traditional martial
art, and Sat Nam Rasayan, a healing technique. Students also study the teachings
of the Sikh Guru’s and learn how to play classical Gurbani Kirtan.
During intensives
that are held throughout the year, the students are able to deepen their knowledge
of all of these disciplines through extended hours of study and practice.
Finally, our
location near the city of Amritsar allows our students to experience the
blessing of frequent visits to Harimandir Sahib, the Golden Temple, which is
one of the most sacred temples of the Sikhs. |
