Miri Piri Academy is a unique school that adopts the yogic concept of integrating
the mind, body and spirit to educate the whole person. Our mission is to train the future
leaders, teachers and healers of the world through rigorous discipline, quality
academics and a strong sense of self.
The school was founded in 1997 by Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh
Khalsa Yogi Ji, and
is named after Guru Hargobind’s two swords, Miri and Piri. These swords represent
the mastery and balance of both temporal and spiritual worlds.
Miri Piri Academy is an ever growing international family. The current student
body represents 13 countries and 8 languages. While our diversity is
honored, the curricular programs and activities are based on the teachings of
the Sikh Gurus, and emphasize the four pillars of the Sikh lifestyle; Bana,
Bani, Simran and Seva.
We balance spiritual and academic studies.
In addition to the core academic subjects, MPA students are educated in
the practice and teaching of Kundalini Yoga, meditation, Gatka, Sat Nam Rasayan,
Gurbani Kirtan, Gurmat studies and the teachings of the Siri Singh Sahib.
We consciously maintain a small student body.
The student body remains small enough to foster academic excellence, a strong sense of community,
close relationships between students, teachers and staff, and a culture of mutual
support.
We emphasize creative expression.
Students have access to the rich, cultural heritage of India, with classes in
language, visual arts, music and dance, as well as travel opportunities to see
the diverse communities and lands of this country.
Our students develop a global perspective.
Students come here from all
over the world, giving each student the opportunity to form a global perspective,
with understanding and tolerance for people of all backgrounds and nations.
By developing a world class academic program
and offering opportunities for spiritual and personal expansion, Miri Piri Academy
strives to become the model school for the Aquarian Age. |
