Miri Piri Academy is committed to serving all those who seek to deepen their academic and spiritual knowledge and discipline. The school supports a limited, need-based tuition assistance program to serve this purpose.

While we at Miri Piri Academy consider parents to hold the primary responsibility for financing their children's education, our financial aid program is designed to provide assistance to qualified applicants who would otherwise not be able to attend for financial reasons.

The Siri Singh Sahib often referred to parents as the “pay-rents.” Our financial aid policy is based on this guiding principal, and Miri Piri Academy offers only partial Financial Aid awards. Additional financial support may be obtained through local programs and individuals.

Financial Aid applications will be accepted until the following deadlines:

Re-enrolling Students: April 15th, 2008

Newly Enrolling Students: First Come, First Served Basis

Please note that applications for Financial Aid will have no bearing on your child ’s acceptance to Miri Piri Academy. Award decisions will be based on the availability of resources and the number of qualified applicants.

Financial aid grants are made only to those students who qualify for aid on the basis of financial need and who meet the following criteria:

• Maintenance of a 2.00 GPA average over the course of the previous school year.
• Maintenance of a Satisfactory rating in Student Life over the previous year.
• Clearance of all fees due at the time of Financial Aid processing.

Financial Aid applications are processed by a third party system that allows us to accurately and fairly compare the applications of the varied families that apply to Miri Piri Academy. To apply:

1. Go to http://www.nais.org/financialaid/sss
2. Choose the ‘SSS’ Online option.
3. Fill out the Parent’s Financial Statement (PFS).

Our School Code is 4421 and the school is listed as Sikh Dharma Education Intl

4. Fax a copy of your official government Income and Tax Return Statement to +1-310-693-2578.

Important Note:

If you are applying from outside the United States, please convert all numbers to dollars using today's exchange rate, and follow the instructions below:

1. Residents of countries not listed should provide City, State and Country in Address box and select ‘Other” in the State box.
2. Convert your income to US dollars and list it in box 12C, labeled Untaxed Income.
3. If you pay taxes in your country, list this amount in box 17, labeled Unusual Expenses.
4. Explain this expense in box 32, including the country you are from, the exchange rate used, and any other details about local taxes.

Once your Financial Aid application has been processed, you will receive a letter detailing the amount received and your Enrollment Contract will be sent to you with the revised tuition amount due.
